The never-ending wait for water in Haryana continues.
Parched lands of Haryana 20kms from Nuh district lies
in Bhadaas village. Here the scarcity of water and unfulfilled promises are
kept disappointing localities.
In this area the private tankers are common sight, feeding
1200 families through plastic pipes. Those who promised drinking water and
water for irrigation are disappeared after elections. The promises and
contracts are just on the papers.

A private tanker generally charges 1000 rupees and this
don’t even last for one month. An average family spending 2700-3000 rupees on
these private water tankers. But the truth is on other hand not every family
can afford tankers. Well are drying and converting into dumping grounds. The families
which can not afford tankers are starving and drinking that water which is not
supposed for drinking. Localities left with unanswered questions and unfulfilled
promises. The neighboringreport on nuh water portal Nagina village has a similar story.
Even a manually operated borewell stops in every 15 minutes
and failed to supply enough water for farmers. Nuh is among 11 districts in Haryana
here groundwater is unsuitable for human consumption due to high level of
sulphate and chlorine. People there claim that though politicians have been
promising to bring water to this area through Mewat canal, but nothing is changed.
The canals are dug up and left, no water flows. the handpumps are just turn
into showpieces.
